I get XBMC 13.1 RC for Debian in Ubuntu

Hi all,

I'm trying to install XBMC 13.2 in Ubuntu 14.10 in the official way:

sudo apt-get install python-software-properties pkg-config
sudo apt-get install software-properties-common
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:team-xbmc/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install xbmc

My problem is that doing this, when I open XBMC i see "xbmc from debian" and on system info i see "XBMC 13.1-RC1 Debian Package version:2:13.1~rc1+dfsg1-1ubuntu3 (Compile...".

Is this ok? why debian version in ubuntu? and further this, it seems to be the release candidate of 13.1, how can I install 13.2?

Regards

There are no 13.x builds for 14.10:

Use the nightly ppa to install kodi 14 release candidate

Many thanks for your answer, teeedubb and Martijn,

Would you reccomend me installing then Ubuntu 14.04 instead of 14.10 in order of having better stability?

Is XBMC 13.2 in the builds for 14.04?

Regards and thanks again

Yeah I would stick with 14.04, for stability and long term support (5yrs vs 9months).

or you just use kodi rc3 (soon to be final) from the unstable ppa.

Many thanks to all for the interest and help, I really appreciate.

I've install a fresh Ubuntu 14.04 and I still have the problem I had consisting in XBMC exiting. I've open a new thread since I thing now the question is different:

XBMC exits when playing

If you can read it I really thank.
