Linux Image Browser and image quality
#1
Hi,
recently started using xbmc for viewing of foto. Compared to other browsers quality of the projected image is worse. I do not know what is broken but the images have different color and a lot of noise
An example can be seen in the link https://owncloud.justnet.pl/public.php?s...2520a6ad9d
In the catalog are three files:
orginal - orginal nef file from camera
gwenview - foto in gwenview browser
xbmc - foto in xbmc

Screenshot made by commad "DISPLAY=:0 shutter -f -e -n -o "file.png" in fullscreen mode.

What can I do to the image quality did not change?

Most likely the TV is limited range and xbmc is outputting Full Range.

Does it help to Set "Use Limited Range" in Video -> Output (Expert Settings?)
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

Hi Fritsch,
Unfortunately, it did not help.
I do not think that the problem was on the side of the TV.

In my understanding, the print screen is done on the server layer (xorg layer). A color analysis is performed by the TV in the next stage.

I do not think that the problem was on the side of the tv or video card, because in the movies this problem does not occur.

Do you need more information from me to be able to solve the problem?

hi,
friend who also uses xbmc shed some light on case.
difference in the appearance of the displayed file depends on the processing .NEF

.NEF format is a raw file type created by Nikon. (decriptions http://lclevy.free.fr/nef/index.html)

I was able to confirm that if the file is converted to .NEF format jpg picture looks the same in all browsers

But the question remains what can be done that the .NEF format was displayed correctly?
