Why http stream can't be simply input in "Add" function? (under GUI)
I under that there is many add on for http stream but that is all fixed, we can't change to our own http stream provider,

As wiki said it's simply plain text format in, why can't simple us by "add/ new network address" in movie? we can manually add SMB. HTS, VDR many many address,
than why can't just simply let us fill in http stream address, than KODI auto add that address to play list?

I guess this is simple to do but for user at XMBC/KODI,
first we have to set windows to show file extension, than modify text file, than change extension, and most annoying staff is found the file location,
no matter in windows or ios or android, all address is different, why makes user so difficult?

Kodi is designed to be used the living room setting with a remote control, easily selecting from a library or other content that is already set up. Typing in a long URL is not something the typical user would need to do all of a sudden while sitting on the couch.

You also have to consider where the URL is coming from. It's obviously not coming from the Kodi GUI, so is it a link in an e-mail that someone sent you, a link from a web page? Often, whatever device you receive messages on can forward the video file to Kodi without making STRM files.

If the directory the file is browsable (as in, it doesn't try to load a typical HTML page for the site), then you can also add the HTTP directory as a video source. Then everything in that directory would be listed, all without STRM files.
