Audio Passthrough on Fire TV Stick?
#1
Does the Fire TV Stick support audio passthrough in XBMC? I've tried checking the passthrough option in the advanced audio settings, but I don't get any sound- my receiver's signal indicator flickers a lot, though (it also thinks that it's receiving PCM 2 channel).

Thanks!

Yes it should be able to use passthrough audio, but it will not be able to bitstream (ie, TrueHD or DTS-HD)

Alright, awesome. Do you happen to know which settings to enable? Enabling Passthrough and AC3 doesn't seem to work on its own for me. (Playing a plain, old .ac3 5.1 surround file results in no sound)

EDIT: By the way, I'm using Gotham 13.2 for ARM on the homepage on an unrooted Fire TV Stick

You may want to try upgrading to a Kodi Helix 14.0 build

Also, please provide a debug log (wiki)

Thanks for your suggestion to use 14.0 - I now have working 5.1 channel PCM (48kHz) audio working! However, AC3 (and I presume DTS) still do not work.

As for the debug log, I've posted a snip of trying to use AC3 passthrough on Pastebin:

Edit: Clarification
