Solved Intermittent noise in right channel during wmv playback
#1
When I play wmv files there is an intermittent white noise in the right channel only. I can't see that it is related to anything specific. The noise usually appears in the beginning and comes and goes in intervals of several minutes. The duration of the noise is usually only a fraction of a second or so.

The noise appears in the beginning when playing the Wildlife.wmv available here:
https://archive.org/details/Windows7WildlifeSampleVideo

The noise appears on wmv files and has not appered on any other file formats I have played. I haven't heard any noise on my Linux 32bit x86 install.

Enabled debugging, rebooted, start playing Wildlife.wmv, Kodi crashed immediatley.

Playback worked after Kodi restarted itself.

Thanks for report. I've downloaded sample and will investigate when I'm back at home. I suspect these messages are the cause:
Quote:COMXAudioCodecOMX::GetData Unexpected change of size (49152->65536)

I suspect if you disable omxplayer acceleration in settings/video/playback then the file will play correctly (until I provide a proper fix).

With omxplayer acceleration disabled the noise is gone. Enjoy your holiday, I can wait to next year Wink
