Hi,
This is my first post so please be gentle.
Sorry if this has already been posted but I did do a search on the forum for static ip address and didn't find anything.
I installed kodi on my Raspberry pi Model B Rev 1 with an 8GB SD card a couple of days ago and I want to set up a static ip address. I originally set it up in /etc/network/interfaces and after a few hours of playing around I found that this didn't work and the correct way was to do it through the GUI. I then set the IP address correctly by going to Programs → Raspbmc settings → Wired network configuration and unchecking the Automatic DHCP option and set up my static ip address. The problem is that it loses the static ip address after a couple of hours (or even days) and then goes back to DHCP. It isn't straight after a reboot, I have rebooted a few times and it keeps the static ip address. It could just happen half way through watching something, it will just lose the static ip address and come up on the screen that the ip address is the new DHCP address.
The internet connection is via ethernet cable.
Thanks in advance
