After upgrading to 14.0, whenever I try to open a video source, Kodi hangs for several minutes if I have the "combine split videos" option enabled in the settings. The length of the delay is proportional to the number of videos in that source. I had hoped that maybe this only happened the first time that source was loaded, but that is not the case.
