Hey all,
brand new to xbmc/kodi so bear with me...
I am thinking of hooking up a small bedroom tv to a device that runs kodi. from videos i've seen i really like the customization it offers and also ease of use for your video library.
thinking of getting a chromebox and then installing openelec on it (this isn't set in stone...if anyone feels something else might be just fine ie: raspberry pi, etc...let me know for sure)
I guess my question/inquiry is this:
mainly i'll just be using it to watch my dvd/blu ray collection. i guess i can venture out try to do/learn more as time goes on...but as of now that's the primary use.
i know a lot of people seem to run their movies from their network over to the xbmc/kodi device....i kind of want to avoid that. mainly because my desktop pc would have to be running and its not the quietest thing in the world.
so this leaves me with basically just storing the movies on a hard drive...which is fine...the chrome box can be upgraded and can add a larger drive to it as need be...or even add an external HDD. those are suitable options correct?
how will that work with regards to the awesome extra content i've seen on vids of setups...for instance when scrolling through peoples movie collection...you'll see graphics/pics pop up and even movie descriptions...do those then not show if i'm running strictly from hard drives?
maybe i'm just way over complicating all of this...maybe its simpler than what i just suggested. just thought i'd post and see what type of answers i could get before officially getting anything.
thanks everyone. looking forward to diving into the kodi world
