Thanks for cutting the logfile. Please provide a full Debug Log and better: Open an issue on trac.kodi.tv after having retried with latest nightly.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

Hello, I have NUC5i3RYH, after having win8.1 on board, I installed kodibuntu and it works perfectly, the only thing is the quality of video picture that seems slightly inferior and less fluid in comprarison to that of win8.1, maybe because of intel drivers used?Or is it only an impression?
There's a way to have the last video drivers updated?

Anyone has tried to install win 10?Everything is ok?

Thanks

P.S. When I used win8.1, sometimes videos or streams have heavy interferences, i have not understood why, so I've decided to try kodibuntu.

if you just installed the regular Kodibuntu (from Kodi.tv), then it needs a kernel update (to 3.19+) to fully support the Broadwell platform (and to fix a bunch of Intel video driver issues). Or use the tweaked version on Distroshare that while optimized for Haswell, is perfectly suitable for Broadwell as well.

Sorry me, but I'm not expert in linux..how can I update the kernel? To install that distro I must format all?To install future updates of that distro what i must do?

Guys, I am looking into getting the i3 NUC for Kodi. I would like an appliance type use and do not want to deal with keyboard and remote. I have few questions and I was wondering if I can find some answers here.

1. Does bluetooth and WiFi work with Openelec without any hacking? Can I use bluetooth PS3 remote with it?
2. How would you rate its performance over say i3 chrombox?
3. Does Kodi/Openelec support hardware encoding in Intel HD 5500?

Thanks

1. Both BT and WiFi works out of the box.
2. Pretty much identical.
3. Encoding, not sure, but where you would need that? HW decoding is supported.

Thanks for your reply. Sorry for typo, I meant decoding.

I have been reading on this thread that HEVC or specifically 4K/HEVC performance is poor with current hardware. Should I than stick with cheaper i3 chromebox for 1080p??

What video acceleration settings are you guys using with Windows?

If you need to use windows - check the DX11 testing thread. This is really the best option / implementation for novel gpus. Especially if you are running Windows 8 or later. http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=218274 <- will be merged right after v15 is out.

Thank you but I installed windows 7 and was wondering what are the optimal settings for the Intel gpu.
