Any chance for displaying subchannels on the guide screen? I want to use the channel names from the back end but end up with channel 4 three times instead of 4.1, 4.2, 4.3.

AFAIK, Subchannels are only supported for ServerWMC right now.

There is an updated version for NextPVR on their forums that does, but out of the official repo you are correct.
I'm running NextPVR and can see the subchannels in Confluence, but most Helix skins haven't seemed to add them yet unfortunately.
