Hi

I'm a novice at this type of thing but have been using kodi on my pi for a while without any problems.

I have bought a new LG TV and now I'm struggling. It's connected via hdmi and I'm using a SD card with raspbmc installed.

Here are some of the issues

Screen keeps going black
Very slow to navigate mainly due to connection on my xbmc remote disconnecting
CPU usage is 100%

Any help would be appreciated

Try this:
Power down the RPi, put the SD card into a PC, on the "Untitled" partition of the SD card that gets mounted you will find a file called Config.txt

Add this to the config.txt file and save:

hdmi_force_hotplug=1

Tried it but no difference.

Noticed my resolution in settings says Desktop, does this matter? It wont let me change it though.

Sounds like a power supply issue - how are you powering the Pi?
If you connect back to the original TV do you have the same problems?
