Linux Dependencies Not Met Error
#1
Hi,

I have installed Kodi on my laptop running Ubuntu 14.04 LTS, however the kodi Repository remains empty even after several attempts on force refreshing and updating, however SuperRepo works but only most of the addons don't (Dependencies not met) I did a few digging and found out that Kodi was supposed to update some of the build it addons during initial startup. So I though the Kodi's server may be down. I tried installing Kodi on my Desktop (Windows 8.1 64Bit) in which the addons were updated on first startup and Kodi's repository worked great as well.

I tried installing Windows on my laptop but it didn't work then as well, I also tried using earlier version which also didn't work. Now I reinstalled Ubuntu on my Laptop but the problem still presists. When checking the log there were several 404 error when I tried to install Aeon. I checked and the proxy is disabled as well. I could post the log if you guys want.

I followed the instructions as told.

logfile is cut and I don't see you trying to install any addon. Anyway, try with a clean userdata folder without adding superrepo.

I clicked the debug log on your signature & followed the instructions. I started debug and quit Kodi and started it back and tried to install Aeon Theme (Install From Zip). From there I copied the approximate time of when I quit the program to the the end.

I tried clearing the userdata as well but that didn't do any help.

the skin you're trying to install needs script.artistslideshow as a dependency.
however your system fails to connect to our mirrors in order to download this addon.

Yes I was able to figure that out myself. But if the servers are down I shouldn't have been able to do it on my tablet as well right? Anyway go any suggestions.

check your internet connection, DNS, firewall

try to download that file manually to verify:
wget http://mirrors.kodi.tv/addons/gotham/addons.xml

I'm still troubleshooting but it seems to be downloading buy very slow (5-10 kbps). I was able to download it easily on my desktop however. Is there any way I could download it on my desktop and then load it on my laptop manually?
