would the same fix work for Pi2? Or is there different version of firmware required?

You can test by downloading:
https://github.com/raspberrypi/firmware/...tart_x.elf
https://github.com/raspberrypi/firmware/...ixup_x.dat

and replace start.elf and fixup.dat (renaming from start_x.elf and fixup_x.dat) on the boot partition of sdcard.

Or try with next (probably not tonight's) Milhouse build.

Hi Popcornmix,

That firmware update appears to have fixed my stuttering also.

Will this fix eventually make its way into the official OpenELEC builds for Raspberry Pi's? I'm running v5.0.5 on my Pi2 and this still suffered stuttering issues on some MKV's until I replaced the firmware with the one you posted.

Thanks!

Frank

Yes, it's in our official firmware repo, and OE tends to use the latest firmware with a new release.

I got OpenELEC update 3 days ago. Vesrion is 5.0.6 and stutters are still there.
So i guess they didn't get latest firmware Smile

Pretty sure the firmware has been updated. You can check from log or with "vcgencmd version".
But is your issue the same as the one discussed in this thread? Videos encoding with handbrake/x264?

Thanks i'll check the version Smile

Yup. Seems to be same problem but files are coming from Internet not created by me.

I think I have the same issue as OP. To fix it should I just update to the latest software ?

I am using OpenElec and I think the latest version is 5.0.8. I need to check which version I am currently running.

EDIT: I'm on 5.0.5, now updating to 5.0.8.

I would like to thank Ntor for posting about this problem , and Popcornmix for fixing it.

I was getting the same stuttering with mkv's made by Handbrake but I think the fix which appears to be in 5.0.8 seems to have dealt with this, as far as I can tell from my testing so far.

Don't cut down log or post them inline. Use a paste site (e.g. xbmclog.com) and post complete logs.
However logs are unlikely to show this type of stutter.

First does disabling omxplayer in video/acceleration settings help?

Can you test a Milhouse/nightly build?
With Milhouse build try with and without omxplayer and also try with and without "Prefer PTS timestamps".
