I'm a bit of a newbie. I've recently setup a RasperyPI with Kodi using openELEC. Everything is working fine, installation was a breze, so I'm pretty pleased.
Today my wife wanted to try the system, and accidentally she picked up the ordinary remote controller for our TV. I've decided to go for using the android app to control Kodi, so that shouldn't work, but .. wonders of wonders, she is able to fastforward, and halt movie playback using the TV remote.
That kind of threw me!! The TV remote is an ordinary IR transmitter and the RPI hasn't got an IR receiver. The question is: What is going on here, and what more can that be used for??
