I've been struggling with my new Kodi install since last night. Every time I try to add a source, I get the "cannot connect to server" error message.
After reading a few posts and watching a few videos I've confirmed that in Kodi>System>System Info>Network, it states "Internet:Not connected, check network settings".
I can recall allowing Kodi to do its thing in Windows firewall as well as AVG antivirus.
I've also installed the same Kodi version on my desktop in the living room where it works just fine. Both PC's are running Windows 7.
What else can I do to get Kodi working?
