I'm getting >10sec shutdown time with kodi. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?

Macbook Pro Late 2013 running OS10.10.1
Installed Kodi with DMG

And maybe others - i would try to disable all service addons you have running and try if this cures the problem. Once its cured activate them one by one to find out which one is causing it. Once found - go to the author of the addon and make a bug report there. Also just in case - read our forum rules - we will not support the bootleg content addons you have installed.

Thanks for your reply! Sorry I'm so long posting back but I've been super busy lately!

When I get time I'll do as you say although I might hold off for a few days because I just bought the new Raspberry Pi 2! Will probably start from scratch so I may not run into the same problem.
