WMC radio channel addon?
#1
For whatever reason my OTA tuner isn't getting FM radio but I would like to do some Kodi testing for radio channels. It seems like at one time there were WMC addons for net radio but these seem to have dried up / disappeared. Is there anything out I can use in WMC just to get a couple radio channels working via SWMC?

Not sure I understand, but... Even if there was a net-radio addon for wmc it wouldn't work with swmc. The only way to do fm radio in wmc - and have it work in swmc - is to have a card with FM and have it configured and working in wmc, then swmc should pick it up. But have you looked to see if kodi has a net radio addon?

I went back and played around more in WMC and got FM radio working, set my presets, and now swmc is sending them and all is well. I also found something called "mcPandora" that I installed and it shows up in WMC under "radio" but I don't suppose there is any way to get the Pandora "stations" reported out or played in SWMC.

The pandora thing is a plug-in to wmc, it just shows up as a radio source. Swmc can't run the plugin. But isn't there a pandora plugin for kodi?

Googling...yes there is:

is it broken?

No. I'm just trying to exercise my skin mods so that they work well in radiochannels, radioguide, radiotimers, and radiorecordings windows. I don't really care about using it to actually listen to anything. I'm too lazy to get any other pvr client setup so I'm trying to get pvr.wmc to throw as much at the skin as it can for testing.

Is it possible to set a timer for a radio preset? I get a Kodi dialog that the backend had an error.

I think it works, how are you trying to do it? I just tried right clicking on a radio channel and chose 'start recording' and it worked.

I was in "radiotimers" and used "add timer" to bring up the DialogPVRTimerSettings to create a new timer recording in the future.

Can you send me the swmc log after it gives you the backend failure?

If you have an fm tuner setup in wmc it should work in kodi. You need to have the channels you want to tune to set as presets in wmc (or you can enter them yourself in swmc's config file).
