Kodi14.0 - mp3 skipped on smb access
#1
Hi folks!

I'm running Kodi 14.0 on Rebecca MATE.
Within Kodi, I can perfectly play videos, photos and mp3's... if they are stored on my computer.

When stored on my NAS (which exists in my wireless home network, too), I can play these files within Kodi, too, but only when I access them using UPnP, which unfortunately doesn't care for any sharing privileges.

Accessing these files on the NAS using smb, I can play videos and photos, but all mp3's stored on the NAS are skipped after about one second of playing and then the next one starts to be played for one second and so on...

How can I fix this, please?

No idea ... start with a Debug Log
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

Here's the log you asked me for.

Hope you don't mind, if I'm using Pastebin.

There are a lot of issues to read from your NAS - is that wireless? bad connection? Does it work from local files?

Well, the NAS itself is connected to my Fritzbox 7390 WLAN by means of a LAN cable, but the computer, where Kodi is installed on, is connected to that router by WLAN.

I doubt it to be a bad connection, because if it was, why does it only affect mp3's, but nothing else?

My connection quality is always at least about 75 % or more.
Most of the time it is more than 85 %.

All mp3's stored on the computer do work perfectly.

MP3's stored on the NAS also work great when being played with for instance VLC or any other player tool on that computer.
They also work great when being played with my WDTV Live Streaming Media Player (connected to my WLAN), which is attached to my TV.

The only way that doesn't work is when I try to play these mp3's within Kodi on a smb connection to the NAS.

Do you have a chance to test NFS instead? I will ask our VFS coder if he has an idea.
