TVHeadend server/backend working on RK3288 with SPMC
#1
If anyone's interested, thanks very much to Taki's efforts......

I finally managed to get his Android port of the TVHeadend server/backend working on the same client device (Tronsmart R28 Meta with SPMC, with a IT9135 DVB-T tuner).

It most certainly works on all Oz mpeg2 live tv channels smoothly (up to HD 720p) using software decoding and also works with MediaCodec hardware acceleration.

It should work with Kodi and other tuners just as well.

With Taki's version of TVHeadend server/backend, the trickiest part was getting the TV stick drivers working well enough so that the device appears in TVHeadend.

I cross compiled my own drivers, but ended up using the s2liblianian drivers that Taki links to (and cross compiled himself) in the thread.

The TV stick drivers (for my DVB-T stick) were a bit of a pain to get working properly at first, but I can confirm it definitely works.....and works well.

Hopefully someone might be able to make the installation process easier.
I wish I could, but it would be a steep learning curve for me.
Very cool if really true, but are you 100% sure that it is running on Android OS and not on Linux OS on Android hardware?

Someone named takitr (takitr = taki?) posted in the WeTek forum saying that he is running Theadend for Linux on a RK3288 box

That is, are you sure that he is not just talking about running Tvheadend on an Android media box installed with Linux OS?
