Please delete the above post. Read the forum rules, DO NOT put debug logs in the forum posts, use pastebin or xbmclogs. Debug-log (wiki)
Makes huge mess in the support thread.

Version 1.0.21 is available in my git:
https://github.com/learningit/plugin.video.thinktv

or in my test repo:
https://github.com/learningit/repository...odi_addons

This version fixes website changes.

A pull request has been made for teh Kodi.org repo. It should be updated in a few days.

Dude, you're gonna hate me- but- this addon just stopped working on my 3 Raspberry Pi's... sorry... :-[

I'm already using version 1.0.21 on Kodi 15.2.

The addon simply won't launch. It just displays an error and says check the log. That's as far as I get.

Thanks for any help. :-)

Substantial change to the website and API. It will take some time to implement a new addon.

[EDIT] Lots of changes.
1) I don't know where 1080 went to, but it's gone (I can't find it).
2) Most of the British show (as well as some PBS) content is locked and requires a paid membership with a min donation of $60/year. In addition you must select the station that you associate with and that varies the content that you have available.
3) For some reason some of the content has gone back to rtmp, so there's work to figure the format out.
4) It looks like a number of things are still being worked on as they don't work correctly in a browser.

Wow, just noticed this too! Big changes indeed.

I can manually get links for 1080p content but when playing the video via the website, I only have options of the lower quality to download (via the Internet Download Manager button pop-up) so I have to manually change the m3u8 to 6500k again. There are definitely still bugs on the site as none of the videos are working for me right now (I'm in the UK). I don't have to select my local station though (I don't have one anyway) I just bypassed that.

I'm sure things will come together in the end and the work to get it fixed is appreciated as always. I don't know what help I'd be but if you need any, feel free to shout.

At this rate, all I am going to have left to watch is YouTube... Undecided

Again, thank you for all your hard work. I know how frustrated you must be dealing with so many addons breaking lately.

Good luck trying to get it all fixed, if you can. :-)

Version 2.0.1 is available in my git:
https://github.com/learningit/plugin.video.thinktv
you also will need to install
https://github.com/learningit/script.module.t1mlib

or in my test repo (t1mlib will automatically load)
https://github.com/learningit/repository...odi_addons

There have been several changes to the PBS site:
1) some content (most British shows) requires login and being a minimum $60 donor
2) the max resolution appears to be 720p
3) the navigation has changed.

I still have many things to do:
1) next page for large listings
2) add in navigation for the local and regional programs
3) add login
4) add watchlists

probably after the new year (sorry). I won't submit this to the kodi.org repo until better tested and more polished.

[EDIT] I will be breaking the PBS Kids into a separate video addon.

Version 2.0.2 is available in my git:
https://github.com/learningit/plugin.video.thinktv
you also will need to install
https://github.com/learningit/script.module.t1mlib

or in my test repo (t1mlib will automatically load)
https://github.com/learningit/repository...odi_addons

This version adds:
1) next page for large listings
2) add in navigation for the local and regional programs
3) add login
4) add watchlists / PBS favorites (It displays them, you need to add/del from a browser until I add the code for add/del)

You can login using your PBS login credentials: email and password.
Depending on your location in your user profile you will see different programs.
If you have Passport service (requires a $60 donation to PBS) the additional programming should display and play.
If you do not have Passport, depending on your location profile, you may see items which are no playable and get a 'Passport required / Video expired message'

Let me know how it works for you. Remember this addon will only work on Kodi Isengard or above.

it's working and strangely it did not ask me for credentials Wink

Thanks for a great plug-in!

Version 2.0.3 is available in my git:
https://github.com/learningit/plugin.video.thinktv
you also will need to install
https://github.com/learningit/script.module.t1mlib

or in my test repo (t1mlib will automatically load)
https://github.com/learningit/repository...odi_addons

There is some sort of a problem with "raw" files on github tonight.

I actually rebuilt the entire repo and still cannot get raw access to my repo's addons.xml. If you try to update the repo and don't get an update you will need to download plugin.video.thinktv and script.module.t1mlib and install them as .zip files.

[EDIT] The "raw" file issue has gone away, I guess it takes some time for github to sync the raw files.

Version 2.0.3 has add/del watchlist and favorites, you must be logged in for these to work. Once you login you will get 'PBS Favorites' and/or 'PBS Watchlist' if you already have contents in either. You can add episodes to the watchlist and shows to the favorites by using the context menu.

If you do not enable login and enter valid credentials, you will see a default subset of the videos available. When you sign up for a PBS account, you specify your local station. Based upon that choice the video choices may be more or less. You may not be able to play all visible videos unless you are a PBS donor and have the "passport" service associated with your login credentials.

Sad
I'm suffering withdrawals from my favorite video add-on as well! I've got to have my weekly dose of Nova, otherwise I'm a basket case the entire week!

Thanks for the update of this great addon.

Hopefully you will indulge me a bit of a python/kodi newbie addon question. If not, no worries, just ignore the rest of this post. But in case you will:

Line 279 of default.py has:

Code:
addonName = re.search('plugin\://plugin.video.(.+?)/',str(sys.argv[0])).group(1)

Yet the sys module is not imported by that file. How is default.py used by Kodi such that works?

AFAIU, in python, normally, even if a caller imports sys, that does not extend to the namespace of other modules that are imported by the same caller. So:

Code:
import sys
import default

does not give default.py the sys namespace -- default.py (usually) needs to import sys itself. But clearly a Kodi plugin does not need to do this as your default.py does not, and yet it still works. So in Kodi, an addon's default.py must not be imported that way, is it? How is it used such that it gets the sys namespace without having to import it itself?

Cheers,
b.

To answer your question, try creating a default.py that looks like this:
Code:
print str(dir()) # print names in the local scope of the current namespace

and see what you get. Questions like this belong in the development area of the forum, not the addon support thread.
