Live TV using Transcoding
#1
Hi,

I'm using a Windows 7 Server running DVBViewer and experimental NextPVR with MediaBrowser. This server is connected wired with 1 gbit ethernet.
On my TV in the living room i use a Raspberry Pi B+ with Raspbmc and the latest version of Kodi. Unfortunately i have to you use a wired connection. (300 mbit), so i have a lots of lagging with HD Live TV (Ard, ZDF, WDR). The SD Live TV works fine.

For watching films or series i'm using the MediaBrowser Plugin that transcodes everything so it works fine over the wireless lan.

Now my question: Is There any PVR Plugin or another option to run the LiveTV Stream transcoded as well?

Thanks

Michael

Hi Michael,

your Problem doesn't belong to the LAN-Connection speed.
There is no need for transcoding Live-TV streams on a LAN/WLAN.

I have the same problem with the DVB-Viewer, RPI (OpenELEC) and only public German 720P HD Channels (ARD/ZDF/Arte). My provider is Kabel Deutschland.
Sky 1080i HD-Channels running perfect.

Here is a thread on the German board kodinerds.net

Ahhh,

okay i will look at this!
Perhaps it's the performance of the Raspi.

We will see when i got the Raspi 2.

Thx for the replay!
