If I have created custom video nodes how do I create a random list using library.data.provider only using the content in a particular node?

For example I have a parent node created named movie_genres with a child node named horror. I can create a randomitems list using library.data.provider for the entire movie library and display listitem.art(poster) with no problem but I am unable to get it to focus on a custom mode.

Any ideas here? I am attempting to create a randomitwm widget type list for these different nodes.
