Edit: Plus one suggestion - Please make the yellow notice bar closable. It's been sitting there for over a month - maybe making it display only to non-registered/logged in users would be a good idea. There's simply no need for it to be static for over a month.

thanx a bunch for the heads-up!
i though i'd nailed the subforum descriptions ages ago, but obviously that was only in my head.

all subforum descriptions should be fixed now, i've double-checked them and even found a few additional ones not included in your list.
there maybe some stickies left as i did not particularly go through all of them but only fixed the ones you indicated.

with the only exception of 207532 (thread), which is a valid use of xbmc ;-)

disposable notifications would certainly be a neat feature to have.
maybe one of our webdevs can have a look at it, or if someone from our community knows how to accomplish it...

Surely a simple workaround would be to have the version number after the DOWNLOAD text at the top.

BLOG | DOWNLOAD 14.1 | WIKI | BUGTRACKER

Then, the big yellow thing can be used for a period of two weeks or so when major changes are announced, rather than months.
