For Ubuntu users.
type this in the terminal.
uname -r
Now you know what kernel you use.

install script script for easy kernel upgrade at:
https://github.com/muhasturk/ukupgrade

Now you are all set for future upgrade with only
"do-kernel-upgrade" to type in the terminal.

That script is simply and positively cumbersome you are at the mercy of what kernel the author decided to ship it with, not necessarily the best.
Best advice is to do it manually making sure you grab the right kernel in first place

That script is forced to 3.16.2 - which is not enough to fix the issues on intel boxes, which need 3.18.4 or later.
