Not seeing Wav or MP3 Files In Shared Folders (Codec Problem?)
#1
Hi, Just installed Kodi 14.1 via the openelec 5.0.3 img file onto a new RP2 and I am unable to "see" wav or mp3 files within network folders.
Also, none of the Music Add-ons seem to work.
Videos over the network are working fine (complete with sound), as are most video add-ons that I've tried.
I can play mp3, wav and flac files to Kodi via Music Bee on a PC, but Kodi doesn't seem to detect them on the network.

I've just done a fresh install and the same thing happens - this is an extract from the Kodi Log that seems relevant...

OpenElec is new to me (as is Linux) - but if users can shed any light as to what is going on I'd be grateful.

Thanks

How do you mean you can't "see" wav or mp3 - do you mean via a library scan, Music -> Files or Video -> Files? If you mean the former, we'll need a full debug log (wiki) (upload to a pastebin site, not the forum) of your scan. If the latter, that's by design.

As for the addon, error 28 is network timeout. Check the service is available, and that your internet connection is working etc. It could also be the version of curl used by OpenELEC 5.0.3 as curl 7.40.0 has known issues and has now been dropped - try a nightly or test build.
Texture Cache Maintenance Utility: Preload your texture cache for optimal UI performance. Remotely manage media libraries. Purge unused artwork to free up space. Find missing media. Configurable QA check to highlight metadata issues. Aid in diagnosis of library and cache related problems.
