Ordering my RasPi2.
Currently running Kodi.
Just plug in the current SD card and all will be the same? Or do I need to redo the entire process? Or am I totally off and there is no compatibly at all yet? Thanks!

There's a specific openelec build for the Pi 2 so i'm afraid you can't just put your current card in your new Pi.

Thank you!

OpenELEC is based on KODI and is specifically meant for RasPi (no bloat)?

I'm sure I've read somewhere about a addon or something that migrates it all for you
Sorry can't remember exactly

Openelec can run on a lot of hardware and has an embedded OS so yeah no bloat. What distro are you using at the moment? Raspbmc?

You can use the Pi1 to upgrade the SD card to the Pi2 version (and vice versa). Presuming OpenELEC on both...

Though if you are talking about an SD card and not a Micro SD card then you'll have a problem...

The Pi B and Pi A both took full-size SD Cards. The Pi B+, A+ and new Pi 2 B take Micro SD cards, and a regular SD card won't fit...

I just got my Pi 2. I bought an SD card with NOOBS on it, but my Pi wouldn't boot. It would hang on the colored boot screen. I downloaded NOOBS 1.4, installed on the SD card, and put back into the Pi. When I powered up this time, the Pi booted and took me to the setup screen.

It appears to me that the older versions of NOOBS don't work on the Pi 2. Anyone else experience this?

Yes. Pi2 needs a custom kernel, so any image that pre-dates Pi2 will not work without some form of update.

Thanks for the response. Can you also comment on required build versions for Kodi and other software? I suspect this will be a common question for newbies such as myself.
