Upgrading XBMC to Kodi - no settings transferred
#1
I use XBMC as a non-admin Windows user. When upgrading to Kodi, it prompted me to elevate to an admin user, which I did. As a result, the Kodi install ran as a different user and none of my XBMC settings transferred to Kodi.

Is this a supported use case? What should I do to resolve it?

Thanks

Try this:
1. Backup your non-admin user's %appdata%\XBMC! (you can always go back to XBMC this way and try again)
2. Uninstall Kodi.
3. Reinstall XBMC.
4. Copy your non-admin user's %appdata%\XBMC to your admin's profile, delete your admin's %appdata%\Kodi if it's still there.
5. Install Kodi again (elevated).
6. Start Kodi using your admin account and make sure everything's in place.
7. After that, copy your admin's %appdata%\Kodi to your non-admin userprofile, make sure that all access rights are inherited correctly and start Kodi as your non-admin user.
Bye,

Thanks, that worked.

Would be good if there was at least a warning when upgrading from a non-admin user that settings will not transfer.
