So, so far i haven't had a huge problem with the hardware acceleration with libstagefright and mediacodec. The only flaw i can find so far is when the hardware is enabled, and i try and fast forward in a TV show or movie, Kodi will close out. But if i change the acceleration to software accelerated, I have no problems fast forwarding or stopping the video and resuming play later on...
So my question. is there a big difference between hardware and software acceleration beside the cpu usage? Of does video quality become a factor?
Is there a way to fix the Kodi crash when hardware is on? Or is this something new that developers havent solved yet. Im using newer hardware, mali-t7 gpu, with the rockship 3288 quad core.
Any help would be awesome. Thanks in advance!
