Trouble with touchscreen in Kodi
#1
Hello all,

I am a RPi 2 noob so please bear with me. I have a Pi 2 with Rasbian (February 2015 version) and Kodi 14.1. My touchscreen 14" works great under the Rasbian os. However when I go into Kodi things go wrong. The touch screen works but only in the top left hand corner. I can move the cursor all over the screen with my finger but only if I stay in the upper left hand corner. If I go to far the pointer disappears. I have tried changing skins to no avail. I also set the proper resolution in the config file in raspbian. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Is there maybe a calibration add-on for kodi. I found something like it for a carpc but was unable to install it.

Thanks,

Joshwaa

(PS will gladly send a PayPal donation to anyone who can correctly fix this for me)

I'm struggling with the same thing as the OP. I have XBMC (Raspbmc) installed and using it as a digital photoframe. I have video connected to a 23" HP Pavilion 23TM touch screen monitor via HDMI. I believe the 23tm touchscreen monitor is capacitive but not 100% sure. It has a USB port for touch screen support that I plug into one of the Pi;s USB ports. Touchscreen does work but only a tiny section in the top left corner. A 1/4 inch movement of my finger moves the cursor across the entire 23" display. It therefore looks like the entire area of the 23" display is mapped in a 1/4 of a square inch.

I would really like to get advise on ideas how I can get this calibrated or plugins I can try etc.

Same here. I'm using a 23" Acer T232HL. Works fine under Raspbian though it took some effort but in Kodi exactly the same. In the upper left corner I can control the pointer but it 'amplifies' the movement I make in that small are to the complete screen. I found some info here but am not sure if that is relevant.

I had a similar issue with my 7" touch screen from SainSmart. It worked great in Raspbian, but as soon as I started Kodi, the calibration was off and the x-axis was inverted.
I followed these steps: http://markamc.traki-iski.co.uk/raspberr...uchscreen/

hope that helps.

Hey Mustangguy,

Thanks for your help.
What build of Kodi did you run? I tried it under OSMC but it didn't work.

In osmc there is no touch and in raspbain and kodi there is only touch in the left top corner.

Thank you
