i am using a Toshiba laptop running win8.1 64 bit and its working, but, it takes a minute or so for Kodi to shut down, otherwise, it works fine. . I connect my laptop to my tv via hdmi and use the remote mouse app to control Kodi from my laptop.

You can always run 32 bit programs on a 64 bit machine,However you can't run 64 bit on a 32 bit machine.
