Auto 2D <-> 3D switch confuses Philips TV
#1
Hi. I'm using OpenElec on Raspberry pi 2 with 1-year old Philips TV.
When I start 3D material, when TV is about to switch to 3D mode, it just doesn't, and throw "Unrecognized format" error. It will stay like that, until I manually reconnect HDMI cable, which is very annoying. Confused
Sometimes it works, sometimes don't. It happens pretty randomly and it's not depending of movie. I can reconnect HDMI cable, play that move once again and then usually it's OK.
Frequency switching on 2D movies always works, it's not that.

As far I can remember, on Rpi1 going 2D->3D worked OK, but switching back to 2D was causing "Unrecognized format" every time.

Any ideas how to fix that?

Thank you

You can add config.txt setting
Code:
hdmi_ignore_edid_3d=1

which should stop the 3D signalling. The TV won't automatically switch to 3D mode, but you can press the 3D button on TV.

No idea why your TV doesn't like the 3D signalling - first time I've heard of that issue.
