Req Slection of L/R channel for MONO sound output
#1
Hello Developers:

I have a few old RMVB files ripped from VCD which contains two audio language. However the problem is they are not multiple audio streams, instead each audio language is on each channel(Left and Right channel). When I play them in Kodi, two audio language plays simultaneously. I wish there is selection to play only left channel/right channel/both channel(normal). i.e. when I select left channel, only left channel audio will be output to both left and right speakers. Also wish to have keyboard shortcut so I can configure a remote button to do switch over.

I know there will be few cases like this, but still hope Kodi can implement this.

I am not able to install the add-on so I am not sure how it works.

Probably not what you want to hear but it will be less work and wait for you to just demux and remux those few videos you want to keep with some video editing software

You also could take this opportunity to convert those those files into MPEG-2 or H.264 so that you will be able to playback those files on almost any player or software.

Not a proper solution for Kodi, which have been asked before here http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=463 but like you say there are so few use cases for this.

Ugh, that's an unpleasant thought in itself. He has content that was ripped from VCD, so that's MPEG-1 at 1.15mbps. Then it was converted to RealMedia and god knows what that did to it. Convert it AGAIN to another lossy format? :X

I tried one movie by extract its audio, convert to wav, edit wav by Goldwave to create two audio streams, remux them with original movie and delete the old audio stream, it takes long time and too many conversions. I think it is painful to do that for all my files.

I read the posts from the link you posted, it seems that this feature has been implemented before but it was removed later. I do not understand why xbmc team remove this useful feature. Hope they can add it back.
