Hi everybody,

for everybody who likes to store his media on encrypted FS, then the kodi media DB is a security leak:
on the one hand you have every media on secure, encrypted filesystems, but on the other hand you have a DB that references the files on the encrypted media.

For example, you have movie1.avi on your encrypted FS. It is secure and nobody knows about that.
Then you have kodi index the movies and create a DB with information etc.
The kodi DB then contains references to the files:

strFileName text Full name of file including extension
strPath text Path URL

which is of course a security leak

It would be great to have the possibility to encrypt either the DB or the complete image (but this is of course a topic for other people)
Unlock could be done via some remote key presses (up, left, left, up, etc).

You're requesting an encrypted database for a piece of software that stores any passwords in plain text?

use full disk encryption.

I won't lie, I'm hoping that this thread turns out to be someone afraid that the MPAA will steal their file database.
