New build - Kodibuntu 14 DVD playing too fast.

Ok, apologies, I shot off at a tangent and didn't read the posts correctly.

So what if I were to buy a new motherboard with on board HDMI as I have an Intel i3 2120 3.30Ghz CPU sat here spare.

Would that be a better solution.

I was just thinking, instead of buying a new display card with what may be a noisy fan I could just upgrade the motherboard and use my spare i3 CPU.

as said the i3 will work(but be warned about its 23,976Hz bug)
as would a new low end gfx card. There usually are even passively cooloed nvidia cards.

Cool.

Can you recommend a specific motherboard or display card?

There's a few passive display cards here, which one would be suitable do you think:

A 210 is 5+ years old - better to get something more recent like a 6XX series, I'm sure you can get them fanless too.

Which model would you suggest?

Sorry for being a tart but I don't want to buy the wrong thing and get stuck with it :-)

Ok, I bought one:

Gigabyte Gt 610

I just hope it works when it arrives.

Who's betting that when it arrives the playback is just the same :-)

Something has to go wrong.
