I'd like to know what is the absolute minimum files required to run Kodi?

I tried installing using the minimum option from the dropdown box in the installer, but that installation doesn't run.

Is there a guide somewhere that details what files can be removed and still have a functioning installation? If not, can someone point me in the right direction figure it out myself? I've looked but I can't find anything.

Kodi loads in all kinds of stuff that it needs for various hardware and support situations. In your case the minimum was not enough (probably one of the dependency's, DirectX or something in Visual C++) If you're really wanting to slim it down to your minimum, I would suggest a personal compile for your specific situation and build would probably lighten the load 20% but watch out something might break. Let us know why you want to minimize, something like moving the thumbnails database to another location might be what you're looking for.
