Hello i am playing a 1080 movie with XBMC - kodi on my ipad 2 from local (the file is on the ipad) and its skipping terribly....

is there a way to avoid the skipping or it's a hardware limit...?

Depends on the file. You can pull some info from the video file by opening it with mediainfo (wiki) and seeing what it says.
