v14 Some videos are stuttering (not all)
#1
Hi all,
After two evening of search here and on the internet, I find my self stuck with a video playing issue.

My setup :

Raspberry Pi B
Two USB Hard Drive
HDMI connection to my TV
Kodi 14.1 up-to-date
Additionally I have Transmission, Sickbeard, Couchpotato and Headphones running as services.
I have Kodi (previously XBMC) running with that config since more than a year with no issue.

The issue :
When launching certain videos, the framerate is very low like 7 to 8 FPS, the images are stuttering and the sound as well.

What I have already try :
Resetting the audio output config to default
Setting the audio output to "Analog" (obviously no sound, but no amelioration to the video)
Trying other videos randomly.
Some that are working are in 1080p with 5.1, some that are stuttering are in 720p with stereo.
It seems random but I am thinking maybe a Codec issue.

Here is a debug output log :

As well as a photo of the debug information when playing the video :

I also have a film but not sure it helps

Thanks to anybody that can point out to any direction.

HEVC (aka H.265) cannot be hardware decoded so won't play on a Pi.

Just to clarify the above statement.
Popcornmix is correct is regards to HEVC decode on the RPi B.

but

Testing on my Turbo Overclocked RPi2 enables 1280x720p HEVC video to be decoded at a bitrate up to 1.3Mbps, which is good enough for TV rips at pretty good video quality. No background services running. Those 4 cores definitely help Smile

Ok thanks that make sense.

I'll have the raspberry Pi 2 soon I hope.
In the meantime I'll try to avoid HEVC video...

Thanks a lot
