Login at Kodi Home

This is news to me, but thanks much to Kodi team for submitting app officially to Amazon. While it's showing as incompatible for Fire TV, 'buy' it anyway (free). Now, after you sideload Kodi v14.2 Beta 1 (latest as of this post), go to FTV's Settings > My Account > Sync Amazon Content to force a synch. When you return to home screen, Kodi icon will show up after a few seconds. May need to navigate away and go back to 'Home'.

Glad to finally have this, as I was able to get rid of Llama and Classic TV hack method to have icon on home screen. Now only if Amazon would allow Kodi as officially compatible with Fire TV. If PLEX can be, why not Kodi?!

That is awesome! Hopefully it means automatic updates too.

Amazon's little box has made quite an impact in this arena.

will this work with Kodi v14.1?

i tried it multiple times with 14.1 and the Kodi icon does not show up

any thoughts?

It would not show for me either no matter how many times I synced content. I finally deregistered my AFTV from my Amazon account, and then re-registered it and it immediately showed up.

Try (under Account) de-registering your FTV and registering it again. It should show up on home screen after 2 minutes.

Thanks for that. I did some searching a couple of days ago and got nowhere. It installed fine on the first 2 but I got a new one in last weekend and I must have "bought" it and re-synced it 25 times. I was driving my wife crazy.

I just bought a new Fire TV and I'm not sure if the firmware is updated or not, but I can't get this method to work.

Does that method still work? I got Kodi off the web app store and tried syncing my account on Fire TV and nothing is showing up in my recent app list.

I believe once you've purchased the Kodi app on Amazon you would then have to de-register your Fire TV device. After that register the Fire TV with you info and the Kodi app should appear within a minute, if not less.

I just did this yesterday and it worked for me.
