CPU recommendation - transcoding - low power
#1
I'm looking to change/improve my server setup.

I've currently got a 24/7 file/web server running Windows Server 2008 R2 on an AMD E-350 and a TVHeadend server which is on when required running an Intel Xeon E3110.

The plan is to have one system to do it all and get rid of the Xeon E3110 because it's a bit of a power hog.

What CPU would be recommended for coping with some 1080HD (Live TV) to 576p transcoding, that is also fairly low power (and low price if possible)?
Are any of the low power Celeron CPUs capable of this?

Needs to be able to handle virtualisation because I run a few VMs for various purposes.

I was hoping to do CPU/RAM/Motherboard for around £150 - need 6 SATA ports on the motherboard - but that might be optimistic. Core i3 CPUs are probably out of my price range.

Any suggestions?

I'm currently looking at the Intel Pentium Dual Core G3258 3.2GHz CPU.
