OE 5.0.0 (x86_64) (operating system, no Ubuntu)

HTS TVHeadend 3.9.2496 gd386ed0 (think that comes with OE)

HTSP 1.9.39 (think I added this to addons)

HDHR3 prime using QAM.

Symptoms 1. Station plays a minute, freezes for a couple minutes and then it moves to a new frozen frame and at the end of a few more minutes does it every few minutes.

Sorry that I can't copy syslog.

Symptom 2. plays fine until I change a couple channels. Sometimes it is the first change sometimes the 5th change for example. Message is “no input source available for subscription“ that appears after 10 minutes or so, (using 15 seconds timeout for connection).

Symptom 3. click the square icon to end program and that freezes everything and I do a hard reboot.

To get things working again, I disable Tvheadend front and back and reboot. I then enable them and reboot again to start the process over.

I also have these channels set up with Windows Media Center and no problems.

I have read thousands of posts over the past week or so and it seems like a common problem often solved by changing HTS for Adam's TVH. I've read the 36 page thread a few times that seems to be the Cadillac but I'm still not sure what to do. I have info overload but can't make sense of it.

Assuming pvr.tvh will solve the problem, I want a stable version. My problem is that I have no way of knowing what version of stuff works with what version. If that is the solution I know there are some TVH tarballs out there but not sure what version I need and what version they are and for what operating system.

Would appreciate any guidance.

Update:

The Tvheadend crashing had nothing to do with the software or configurations. Never the less TVH is not workable on the HDhomerun Prime tuner as explained by Jasonl on the HDHR site and he suggested a couple of alternatives and I chose Mythtv and now it works. Apparently HDHR does not tune by dvbhdhomerun but by libhdhomerun therefore sooner or not much later TVH must crash and freeze. https://www.silicondust.com/forum/viewto...56&t=16338

For sure it doesn't. If you right click my original link and select copy link location and paste it to a word or text document you see it is the same as they printed with the "..." missing about 9 characters. So let me try using a smaller link that they don't try to shrink.
