Empty EPG
#1
Hi, I on 14.2 RC1 on windows 7 with latest ServerWMC. Both Kodi and WMC server are running on same machine therefore my WMC configuration has "localhost" as the ip address. I am using silicon HD Homerun as the backend. Since past few weeks Kodi is not able to fetch the EPG timeline even though it is able to retrieve the channels. everything was fine since past few months but it started to happen on the xbmc (13.xx0 release as well all of the sudden and is continuing on kodi version as well.
Can somebody please help.

Thanks

Have you checked to see if wmc has the guide data?

I actually get EPG enteries in Web but it always states finding client even if my kodi is running, to me it should point to the kodi on pm name. I have the notepad log file, not sure how to attach it here.

I don't understand what you mean about the guide data. But you can paste the log on pastebin.com and post the link to it in this thread.

I have the same issue.wmc works fine, epg is all complete. In kodi the epg is empty, it has not loaded once.
Was using media portal for live TV only because I tried mp before kodi but the epg was screwed for several channels and recording erratically. I am fairly new to kodi after switching from wmc which I've been using for years with no problem with live TV. Initially I could not get channels because wmc start was prevented (mp). Once that was sorted all channels are there, just no epg.
Any ideas?

I upgraded to 14.2 last night, and today I have this issue too. I reset the EPG database, and guide is empty, but I can see recordings. I'll try re-applying the downloaded wmc addon, rebooting, etc, and post back if those or other similar simple stuff does NOT fix it.

My problem was caused by not being able to access the tuner.
Drilling down, I found that two of the MCE services were not started, and when I tried to start them, they gave me an access denied error. I changed the logon property to local system, and they started up OK, WMC was happy, and therefore then Kodi and pvr.wmc was happy.

The funny thing is, it really wasn't obvious this was happening. I definitely did not make this change, and it apparently happened about a week ago judging from my missed recordings.

Anyways, for anyone else who suddenly ends up with empty channels/epg , but a guide in WMC, this is probably your problem. First rule of troubleshooting - test everything! I assumed that since I had an EPG I was in the clear in WMC, but actually tuning a channel was the critical fact.

Thanks for the info. There are only two services that wmc starts ehRecvr and ehSched, both were stopped? Maybe we should consider having swmc check and warn if these services aren't up.

My problem occurred after upgrading to Kodi. The EPG information is downing loading from WMC. If I load a TV channel and click of the EPG icon it does display the timeline schedule for that channel. However when I click on the guide option no channels are displayed. In fact the left menu cannot be launched on the guide screen.

Have you tried resetting the epg database in kodi?

Found the anomaly. The default view option for Kodi was set for "Channel". With no channel loaded it's impossible to display the left menu to alter view options. Once the channel is activated then flip back to EPG menu under TV and set the view option to "Timeline".
