amazon fire or M8 box?
#1
was settled on getting a quadcore M8 box to run kodi on, but then someone suggested the amazon fire as being more reliable and a better option, between the two is the amazon better for the money?

I have an Amazon Fire TV.

It runs Kodi really well Look at this for a really good tool to help you set it up:

It'll stream pretty much anything including ISO's.. The Amazon apps are also a LOT better than others as they are build for a Tv set rather than a tablet.. It's really slick to use and really responsive..

The only drawback for me is no DTS-HD and if you play a 3D ISO it'll be played as 2D

I do love my box though.

looking good for the amazon fire then, the only problem is that a member on here has not been able to install kodi on their's, they seem to think the software in the box has changed to stop the installation.

Unlikely or we'd have heard about it. Link?

For a pure Kodi experience I'd go for the M8, if you need additional software/apps then the Fire would be the go.

It's a work in progress. But the support for the openelec port has been consistent for the last half year.

It should work, I just did mine with the latest software update. It went smoothly.

Try again, good luck.
