This addon provides all NBC programs such as: The Tonight Show, The Voice, etc. - classic NBC programs (Miami Vice, Kojak, Knight Rider) as well as local NY news and weather.
This is a light addon which I wrote to work with my Amazon Fire Stick which keeps running out of memory. Proxy and subtitles are supported.

Due to a website bug, this addon doesn't appear on the addons.kodi.tv pages, but is in the repo.

I'm from Canada and don't have a proxy setup so I wasn't surprised when nothing would play. However I am getting an error "Video has expired" which is something new instead of the usual "script error".

Ok I checked with a proxy - outside of the US you need to setup a US proxy to get the programs.

Thinking the proxy stuff through, I need to make a change to allow the use of a crappy (I mean free) proxy. Right now the addon uses the proxy for all calls if the proxy is enabled, including the video stream, which is obviously not needed because you can get the program listings. The addon will probably run faster and work with a lightweight proxy if I only use the proxy to resolve the playable url. I will make the change tomorrow.

Ok turns out that a proxy is needed outside the US and you must have a version of Kodi which has ffmpeg compiled with gnutls or openssl to be able to play the videos as https is used in the play url. Version 1.0.5 in my git has proxy use minimized.

What system/version of Kodi are you running? Also you may want to post a debug log with CURL debug enabled. Version 1.0.6 works correctly with new and classic shows - the proxy needs to be "elite" class and fast enough that it doesn't timeout. If the urlopen times out because of a slow proxy connect, click again and it usually goes through.

Some folks may experience a script error. This should be fixed in V1.0.7 on 4/29/15. I have put in a pull for the update to be added to the kodi.org repo. Should be there in a few days. If you can't wait you can download from my git: https://github.com/learningit/plugin.video.wnbc

This version adds metadata and selectable views to improve the appearance on skins.
There is a 1-2 minute first run initialization which builds some required metadata. This is only the first time the addon is run.
The default view values are set up for the ftv skin, you will need to change them for your skin.
For the ftv skin, just goto addon setting and enable views to get the correct view for the addon.
