Try downloading the 32-bit OS X version of Kodi.

http://mirrors.kodi.tv/releases/osx/i386...x-i386.dmg

You can tell if your iMac is booting with a 32-bit kernel or 64-bit kernel by following the instructions over here:

I don't think 14.2 supports 10.6.x. Upgrade your OS. Your iMac aupports Yosemite, and it's also free.
Wrxtasy: it doesnt matter if the kernel is 64 or 32bit. 64bit programs can run in userspace on OSX even with a 32bit kernel as long as the cpu is 64bit. Seeing the CPU is a Core i5, it can run both 32 and 64bit programs.

Cheers Soli, its always confused me. I do remember Ned Scott mentioning something about Isengard and OS X 10.6 moving forward too....

EDIT: Ah here it is...

Quote:And yes the 14.x versions of Kodi will be the last ones which support osx 10.6 runtime (due to the need for c++11 standard in our code which is not supported on osx 10.6).

Its crashing in VideoDecodeAcceleration which was not available in 10.6.2 - update to 10.6.8 where it should be available. (no xbmc version would have run on 10.6.2 either...)
