So, I have 12.3 and .mkv files play fine. I remove 12.3 and install 14.2 and .mkv files won't play. So I remove 14.2 and install 12.3 and voila, .mkv files play again.

I'm probably missing a setting or something that has to be changed in 14.2 that I don't know about.

platform is windows 8.1 64bit and the .mkv files are being created by MakeMKV.

sample directory structure is \\NAS03\Public\MainMovie\Castaway\Castaway.mkv

Anything else I can provide to diagnose this?

I just tested two .mkv files using 14.2 release and they played normally.

Found the issue. Enabled "Movies are in separate folders that match the movie title" and all is good
