Foreign Subtitles only?
#1
running Kodi 14.1, i have the subtitles add on installed, works great. But i am wondering if there is a way to only use the subtitles when there is foreign audio in a movie? Example - i'm watching an action flick, and the bad guys are speaking Chinese, this would then show the subtitles in English so i know what they are talking about. With the way it is setup now, every movie i watch the subtitle add on kicks off right before play back and tries to find a subtitle track to download, which i dont want or need.

thanks guys

alright, did some investigations for myself... when i rip my collection, sometimes i choose the foreign audio track and the burn in option, so that the container contains the subtitle track for forced audio. (MKVs) However, sometimes i don't know if the movie has foreign audio..like if i can't remember etc. So rather than re ripping i found a website that hosts a bunch of .srt files which are the subtitles. They have them for different languages, however sometimes they have them for foreign audio, like in my situation. Find your movie from here. http://subscene.com/

then, following this wiki just name the .srt file correctly. check out 4.3.2 subsection. http://kodi.wiki/view/Subtitles#External..._Subtitles

finally, check out this google docs document that trys to keep up with which movies are forced and which are not, etc.

hope this helps somebody out there. Smile
