For anyone else wondering the same things I was, it seems that you can use the same .zip for openelec or raspbian.
You just have to not fumble finger it

It seems like there isn't a repository with the current proper client for raspbian, if I'm reading the versions correctly, only the previous old client.
Also, I see some dropbox links being passed around, and negge seems to have a page with a linux arm version compiled as well.

But, and I would wish to be corrected here .. it seems like all of you are using these binaries for openelec not raspbian.
Are the compiled addons interchangeable? Because right now from my experiments it seems they are not.

Can someone
a) confirm there is no working raspbian precompiled version?
b) give some pointers to compile the latest under raspbian?
