v14 HDMI audio lost when tv is restarted
#1
I just reinstalled my HTPC. I have had this set up over a year and it works fine. Now when I turn the TV off and back on I loose audio and I can not get it back without restarting the computer.

I am running Kodi 14.2 on top of Ubuntu 14.04.2 server. xorg standalone

Intel J1900 with Intel video drivers. Asrock Q1900-ITX with 4 GB or ram.

I was running 14.04.1 with Kodi 14.2 before and it was fine.

I have tried restarting alsa, checking the intel drivers, changing the device in kodi. The only thing that gets the audio back is rebooting. After I loose the audio kodi no longer has the TV info with the HDMI 1 option.

Code:
root@server:~/data/scripts# lspci | grep VGA
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation ValleyView Gen7 (rev 0e)

No EDID, no handshake, no audio.

Hardcode EDID information or do xrandr --output HDMI1 --off && xrandr --output HDMI1 --auto that should bring it back
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

No you don't ... you are not able to configure your audio devices ... Debug Log will tell
