Be aware, that if you use S/PDIF to your receiver, that you have to setup the audio settings in the correct way to use the S/PDIF output for passthrough.

But I don't think this is neccessary. You should use your normal HDMI connection to your receiver:

HTPC->HDMI->Receiver->HDMI->TV

and then select the HDMI as the passthrough device.

When you grab the logs, please make some screenshots from your audiosettings as well. Maybe something is wrong there.

Greetings

Play this, and only this with debug logging enabled: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5572...20Test.avi
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

@ogre:

Any reason why you are not trying to connect your avr via hdmi?

For the screenshots:

http://kodi.wiki/view/Keyboard_controls

Attach a keyboard and press the prnscr (or similar for "Print Screen") button. Then you are asked for a folder to save the screenshots and all screenshots are then saved there. They werre getting the filenames "screenshotx.png" and the "x" stands for an ongoing number....screenshot1.png.....screenshot2.png and so on

Hi,

yesterday I found that in audiosettings there is an expert option. Then I could find that for passtrough is set different output and thats why ti is not playing.
Once I switched to spdif it began to work.

Regarding HDMI, I use spdif and HDMI directly to TV as when I sent signal thru receiver, it sometimes switch off screen (stay black) while sound was playing. I thing it is due to overheating. However it is OK with PS3 thought.

So from now on, only problem is with CD and Shutdown/Stabdby.

thank you with passtrough help,

This issue is mostly related to the thing, that ppl first turn on their HTPC and then the TV and the AVR. The HTPC has to be turned as the last device in the chain. The HTPC tries to check if there is a HDMI connection present and "looks" for some EDID informations. If it doesn´t get any, the HDMI part is shutted off. So you can´t use it for that moment. To prevent this, turn on your devices in the following order:

First: TV
Second: AVR
Third: HTPC

or hardcode your EDID, what is a bit more complicated as turning on your devices in a special order Wink

If you then still have a black screen, then I suppose you either own a denon or a pioneer AVR?

There are known issues with intel hardware and pioneer and denon AFAIK. But it can be solved...not by me, but fritsch already jumped in Wink and he knows best

I have Harman Kardon AVR 255 receiver and i thing it is due to incompatibility of sync between intel board and receiver hardware.
It usualy send signal, but from time to time it flicker and once it get hot it switch signal off.
I don't have this problem with any other device on hdmi playing fullhd content (dell tables, phone, ps3).

Will switch to minix x8h+ once I get budget.
