OpenELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi (Kodi 15.0) Part 2
(2015-06-14, 16:15)MrMagic Wrote: I saw in the Trac issue mentioned above that it was closed and fixed about 70 minutes ago Smile Maybe we can get the fix included in the next build?

The subtitle positioning fix has been merged into master, so will be in next Milhouse build.
Yep, PR7277 if you're interested in the details.

Hello,

how get you to Kodi 15.0 rc1 ?
The Kodi-Homepage sign a actually Beta 2 Version.
Now that beta 2 is released the next will be rc1.
If I have helped you or increased your knowledge, click the 'thumbs up' button to give thanks :) (People with less than 20 posts won't see the "thumbs up" button.)

Yes, it works!
Many... many thanks Milhouse and FernetMenta.
Have a great day.

Made me double check the homepage too, till I realized, that Milhouse's test builds are running on the next nightly's code, which would be for rc1 release.
Media Companion Dev.
Media Companion - Kodi / XBMC - Media Companion
The Kodi cycle is bump version in git, new commits for this version. Release this version.
So Milhouse builds are testing the up-coming rc1 release. The lastest official release is beta 2.
Will you also add the 3D MVC support for mkv-files to the standard Kodi (>=15.0) packages or do I need the OpenELEC distro and a RaspberryPi? I'm using Kodi on a QNAP NAS, and it would be great to save the time for converting MVC-files into SBS-files. In any case, many thanks for your work bringing MVC-support to the people.
Any special instructions to upgrade to one of these builds if coming from Openelec 5.0.8? I used Leopolds addon last night to download the latest, it went through the reboot/install, but then was left with a black screen and it wouldn't boot. Maybe just start with a fresh 5.0.8?

3D MVC is also a part of the Firmware of your Box. For OpenELEC on RPi its done, but not for other boxes

Installation instructions are in the first post. No idea why it wouldn't boot, a fresh 5.0.8 should definitely work.

Fellow Community,

thank you for your ongoing efforts with Kodi. It proves to be very comfortable, with all my bad experiences I had with other solutions like WDTV and the like before. Now I'm using a RaspberryPi 2 with Kodi, a bit overclocked with a HifiBerry stuck on for optical audio output, unofficial build version:

OpenELEC (unofficial) Version: devel-20150615174652-r21029-gd9c8225
OpenELEC git: d9c8225c2037a1575de830ef819cb6f239177620

However, since switching to Kodi 15, I have trouble getting my 3D videos to play back. The projector (Optoma EH500) manually supports side-by-side, top-and-bottom and supposedly automatically detecting frame packing via HDMI 1.4a:

Code:
PIWZ:~ # tvservice -m CEA
Group CEA has 17 modes:
           mode 1: 640x480 @ 60Hz 4:3, clock:25MHz progressive
           mode 2: 720x480 @ 60Hz 4:3, clock:27MHz progressive
           mode 3: 720x480 @ 60Hz 16:9, clock:27MHz progressive
  (native) mode 4: 1280x720 @ 60Hz 16:9, clock:74MHz progressive 3D:FP|TopBot
           mode 5: 1920x1080 @ 60Hz 16:9, clock:74MHz interlaced 3D:SbS-HH
           mode 6: 720x480 @ 60Hz 4:3, clock:27MHz x2 interlaced
           mode 7: 720x480 @ 60Hz 16:9, clock:27MHz x2 interlaced
  (prefer) mode 16: 1920x1080 @ 60Hz 16:9, clock:148MHz progressive
           mode 17: 720x576 @ 50Hz 4:3, clock:27MHz progressive
           mode 18: 720x576 @ 50Hz 16:9, clock:27MHz progressive
           mode 19: 1280x720 @ 50Hz 16:9, clock:74MHz progressive 3D:FP|TopBot
           mode 20: 1920x1080 @ 50Hz 16:9, clock:74MHz interlaced 3D:SbS-HH
           mode 21: 720x576 @ 50Hz 4:3, clock:27MHz x2 interlaced
           mode 22: 720x576 @ 50Hz 16:9, clock:27MHz x2 interlaced
           mode 31: 1920x1080 @ 50Hz 16:9, clock:148MHz progressive
           mode 32: 1920x1080 @ 24Hz 16:9, clock:74MHz progressive 3D:FP|TopBot
           mode 34: 1920x1080 @ 30Hz 16:9, clock:74MHz progressive

With Helix/14, I could just use my projector to the prefered mode that the video came in (MKV, SBS/HBS), and Kodi switched the GUI to the 3D mode that I had chosen, while leaving the video alone, aka having the projector do the work of assembling the two halves back to a full frame for left/right eye.

Now with 15, and after switching various options on and off, including enabling and disabling the full frame HDMI 3D output, trying various 3D options, enabling automatically switching the video mode when starting/stopping video - I always get the GUI in the selected 3D mode, aka SBS or HBS, but having the video play monoscopic. I'm at loss at what to do. I was satisfied with the way it worked before, although I wouldn't mind having the projector automatically detect 3D playback and switch on DLPLink. But currently, I am unable to watch any 3D video at all. I'm aware that the number of supported 3D formats for frame packing are limited with this projector.

So what are my options to get my 3D back, at least the way it worked before? Anything beyond that, i.e. automatic 3D switching with frame packing, would be a cherry on top.

Thank you in advance for any hints to get it working again.
Alex
@graealex
in Config.txt

hdmi_force_edid_3d=1

some users fix it with this option.

This isn't one of my test builds, please start a separate thread if @ivota's suggestion doesn't help.
